An Amazonian apology

We've emerged from the Amazon, exhausted, excited, damp, muddy, bug-bitten and hediondos. After four eighteen-hour working days my notebook is full of scribblings and birds but I'm too whacked to write up everything we saw while we were there. What's more, tomorrow morning we embark on the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. Many species will have to remain in my notebook for the time being. Here though are the lists and posts I managed to write, by candlelight in a wood cabin, while we were there.
